What happens

Jessica Drummond, widowed after her husband Paul's long illness, finds herself lonely and adrift with her two sons away at school. Her friend Jenna persuades her to join a winter trip to Lake Tahoe, where she meets Major Scott Landis, an Army engineer who helps her find her way back through the snowy woods. Their attraction grows back home in the city, bringing tension with her disapproving mother and her sons. Scott is a Warner Brothers film presented on the Screen Guild Theater in 1947, with Wayne Morris as Scott and Alexis Smith as Jessica.

Lake Tahoe and a city home in the late 1940s

Characters: Jessica Drummond, Scott Landis, Jenna, Jim, Carrie, Anna, Kim, Keith

Listen for: Jessica's conversations with Scott at the Tahoe cabin and his apartment, and her talks with her sons.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
