What happens

Senator Oliver P. Loganbury arrives in New Orleans to pursue crooks who swindled the public, but he is drawn into a scheme set up by Jim Taylor, a man framed as president of the Louisiana Purchasing Company. Taylor hires Marina von Minden to compromise the senator so that the investigation against him will be called off. Marina poses as the senator's companion over dinner, and Taylor's associates take photographs. The senator wakes the next morning to find himself in compromising pictures. The Screen Guild Theater presents this 1943 radio version of the Paramount film Louisiana Purchase, starring Victor Moore, Annabella and William Gargan, broadcast on February 22, 1943.

New Orleans, Louisiana, and later the state capital in Baton Rouge

Listen for: Taylor's plan to compromise the senator with photographs, and the senator's reaction the next morning

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
