What happens

Johnny Case, a lawyer, becomes engaged to Julia Seton, whose wealthy family lives in a large mansion. At a New Year's Eve party in the family's playroom, Johnny tells the Setons he plans to quit his career and take a long holiday to find out what he is working for. Her father and sister Linda react differently to his plan, and the party quickly becomes tense. Johnny's remarks raise doubts about the engagement, and the household's expectations begin to pull in opposite directions. The Screen Guild Theater presents this radio adaptation of the 1944 Columbia Pictures film Holiday, based on the play by Philip Barry. Joseph Cotton stars as Johnny Case and Loretta Young as Linda Seton.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
