What happens

Screen Guild Theater presents a radio adaptation of For Me and My Gal, a story set in the vaudeville world. Joe Hayden and Harry Palmer are performers who meet in a small Iowa town, where Harry proposes they team up as a double act. Joe is drawn to Harry, but their partnership and romance are complicated by ambition, rivalry and a series of setbacks. The broadcast, first aired on March 22, 1943, stars Judy Garland, Gene Kelly and Dick Powell, who play Joe, Harry and Jimmy Metcalf. The story follows their careers as they chase the chance to play the Palace Theatre on Broadway.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
