What happens

Elizabeth Lane, a magazine writer whose popular farm columns are entirely invented, faces exposure when her publisher, Alexander Yardley, plans to visit her Connecticut farm for Christmas with a wounded sailor as her guest. Desperate, she agrees to marry her editor, John Sloan, and the pair arrange a hasty wedding on the farm. Ronald Reagan plays the sailor, Jefferson Jones, and Jane Wyman and Leon Velasco also star in this Screen Guild Theater broadcast of the Warner Brothers film Christmas in Connecticut, first aired on August 5, 1946. The early events of the story set up a series of mix-ups around the farm and its household.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
