What happens

Jimmy Ringo, a notorious gunfighter now weary of his reputation, rides into the cow town of Cayenne and walks into the Gem saloon. A young man named Eddie provokes him, and Ringo draws first to defeat him and his companions. Ringo then learns from an old friend, Mark, the town marshal, that three brothers of the men he has killed are on their way to avenge them. Ringo asks Mark to let him see Peggy, the woman he once loved and their son, and he waits in the saloon with the clock running. The series is Screen Directors Playhouse, broadcast on NBC on June 7, 1951, starring Gregory Peck.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
