What happens

Sicily and Chris are a young couple whose romance begins in 1942, when Sicily, a college student, leaves school to be with Chris, a newspaper reporter. They marry quickly, but their early married life is strained by Chris's demanding job and Sicily's wish to act on the stage. Friends Tommy Abbott and others appear as their circumstances shift. This Screen Director's Playhouse presentation of Next Time We Love is broadcast on NBC on March 29, 1951, and stars Jimmy Stewart and Eleanor Parker, who recreate their roles from the motion picture. The story follows their hopes and disagreements through to the point where the couple faces new hardships with their young child.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
