What happens

In 1912 New York, Ivy Lexton visits a fortune teller who tells her that a great change lies ahead and that two men stand in her way. Ivy, married to the struggling Jim Lexton, is drawn into an affair with Dr. Roger Gredrix, and later meets the wealthy Miles Rushworth, whose attentions she welcomes. Her debts and her dissatisfaction with her marriage press on her as she weighs her choices. This is the Screen Director's Playhouse presentation of Ivy, starring Joan Fontaine in the title role with Charles Drake as Jim, broadcast on NBC on January 11, 1951. The story unfolds in a series of scenes at home, at parties and in the doctor's office.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
