What happens

Sam Spade is approached by Miss Fox, a young woman who asks him to find Johnny, a man recently released from prison who once served time over a gold key. Spade learns that Johnny has been obsessed with the key and tracks him to a hotel, where violence breaks out. Spade questions the people around Johnny, including Sammy and a man named Mike Malloy, and tries to piece together the reasons behind the trouble. The gold key, a brass key marked 322, and the hotel room all become important as Spade pushes for answers.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
