San Francisco in 1949, including Spade's office, Eve Adams's apartment, Dream of Love's building, a bar called the Seahorse, and Gorse Hagen's converted PT boat in the waters near Sausalito.

Listen for: A clever mystery where the physical evidence tells a different story than it first appears; Spade's deduction about what the nail polish and burned shirt really reveal; the tense confrontation on Hagen's boat and the final explanation of who committed the murder and why.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
