What happens
Richard Diamond investigates a series of brutal murders plaguing the city. When a third body is discovered by the roadside, Walt pressures Diamond to help crack the case. Diamond notices the killings follow a pattern within a circular area and theorizes the killer departs from a location around 2:45 AM, pointing police toward nightspots that stay open late. Diamond's investigation leads him to a bowling alley bar where he identifies a suspect and sets up a dangerous trap to catch him red-handed.
A city's fifth police precinct, nightclubs and bars throughout the city, roadside locations, and a parking lot at night
Characters: Richard Diamond, Walt Levinson, Helen, Sergeant Otis, Ed Cody, John McCarthy, Martha Kirk, the bartender
Listen for: The clever deduction about the circular pattern of murders and the time frame, the witty banter between Diamond and Walt, the tense stakeout and trunk-riding climax, and the light comedic ending with Diamond and Helen
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
