What happens
Richard Diamond is drawn into investigating a series of brutal murders of women across the city when his old police friend Lieutenant Walt asks for help. A killer who appears to hate women has claimed three victims in three weeks, leaving the police baffled and the public in panic. When Diamond identifies a suspicious pattern in the crime locations and timing, he and Walt stake out a bowling alley bar where one victim was last seen alive.
New York City, present day; a bowling alley bar and surrounding areas; a police precinct; various locations within a ten-mile radius of the city.
Characters: Richard Diamond, Lieutenant Walt, Sergeant Otis, Ed Cody, John McCarthy, Martha Kirk, The Killer, Helen Asher
Listen for: Dick Powell's clever banter with Lieutenant Walt and his assistant, the building tension as Diamond stakeouts the killer at the bowling alley, and the shocking confrontation in the car when the killer's violent nature is finally revealed.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
