What happens

When Dr. Evans calls Richard Diamond with a mysterious $1,200 proposition about insurance fraud, the doctor is found dead—apparently a suicide. But Diamond suspects otherwise and begins investigating a connection between Evans, a man named George Farmer who burned to death in a cabin, and an insurance policy. The investigation leads Diamond to uncover a murder plot involving forged signatures and eliminated witnesses.
