What happens

Ranger Bill is a radio drama from the Ranger Bill series, first broadcast on July 30, 1958. In the mining town of Silvertown, a preacher named Parson Stevens arrives to reopen a long-closed church, but he is quickly warned by the local bullies Ox, Buzz and Raw. Frightened townsfolk stop attending services as the trio threatens them, and the church is vandalized. Spence Fielding, a former fighter, is brought in as a fighting man to support the preacher, while Ranger Bill, who is seeking authority to enter the town, works through the problem with him. The church and the town's safety remain at the center of the conflict.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
