What happens

Ranger Bill Jefferson of Naughty Pine is a friend to the Benson family, whose ten-year-old son Jimmy has been unable to walk since a fall as a toddler. Dave Benson worries about the cost of a specialist, so Bill arranges for the doctor to examine Jimmy. The doctor believes the boy's condition may be corrected, and the family must find money for a trip to Baltimore while the townspeople debate whether the church can help. The episode is a Christmas story about faith, hardship and generosity in a small mountain town, presented in the Ranger Bill radio series, which first aired on July 16, 1958.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
