What happens
Ranger Bill and his partner Stumpy Jenkins find a young horse badly beaten and left in the blistering heat near a creek. The horse carries the brand of Basil Raskam, a rancher known up and down the range for his violent temper and cruelty to animals and men. Stumpy takes the wounded horse into protective custody and, when Basil's men come after it, the two rangers hold their ground. The episode, from the 1958 Ranger Bill radio series, first aired on July 9, 1958, and centers on the question of how a man with such a fiery temper can be brought to change his ways.
The woodland and open range of the high country, where a creek runs through the shade, and later the town courthouse and the Ranger Stables.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
