What happens

On a hot summer day in Nottie Pine, Stumpy and the young ranger's helper talk about Stumpy's past. Stumpy tells of his student days in a big city, when a young neighbor, Marty Patton, began practicing the piano at all hours above the rooms of Mr. Jenkins. The noise drives Mr. Jenkins and other tenants to desperate measures, and their attempts to deal with the boy and his family grow more and more frustrating. The series Ranger Bill, first aired on December 7, 1960, presents this story as one of Stumpy's reminiscences of the quieter life he prefers.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
