What happens

Henry, a young man in Naughty Pine, meets his old friend Harvey Elroy, now a botany student in college, who tells him he does not believe in God because there is no proof. Shaken, Henry turns to Ranger Bill, who explains that the only real assurance of God comes personally from God. Henry then leads a boys club hike with Harvey along, and the group faces small accidents that Henry uses to talk about trusting God through hard circumstances. Henry is torn between his faith and his friend's arguments, and the episode focuses on working through those doubts.

Naughty Pine, a small woodland town, including the streets, a soda fountain, and the woods where the boys club goes on a hike.

Characters: Ranger Bill, Henry, Harvey Elroy, Frankie, Mr. Albright, Barb

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
