What happens
Ranger Bill Jefferson warns the ranchers and farmers around Naughty Pine that a drought has left the forests and prairies dangerously dry and that a prairie fire is a grave risk. Hal Nessel, the government agricultural agent for Naughty Pine County, meets with Luther Aiken, Rudy Nichols and Jason Manders in his office, where the ranchers resent a forest ranger telling them how to run their land. The discussion grows heated as they argue that prairie fire is no real threat. Outside, the dry grass along the fence lines is noted as a hazard, and Bill plans another meeting with the county agents. The episode is part of the Ranger Bill series.
Naughty Pine County, a drought-stricken forest and prairie region where no meaningful rain has fallen in three months.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
