What happens

Ranger Bill, responsible for building a new bridge over Deadman's Gorge in the Nadi Pine country, must find a replacement foreman when the project falls behind schedule. Stony Farwell reports that the best candidate, Tom Ferris, is known among the men as a jinx because of the accidents that have followed him. Bill and his companions Gray Wolf and Stumpy begin looking into the rumors and into Tom's past work on the Midmont Bridge, where his driving manner first began to wear on his crew. The episode follows the men's doubts about Tom and the troubles that begin to plague the work. This is a radio drama from the Ranger Bill series, first broadcast on November 5, 1955.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
