What happens
Ranger Bill Jefferson keeps watch over the Naughty Pine Ice Festival, where he and his fellow rangers enforce safety rules during the winter contests. When a reckless young driver is arrested for speeding and overloading his car, Bill explains to the festival crowd that strict safety enforcement is the reason for the town's accident-free record. Officials and rangers test the ice for the fishing contest, and the mayor's office and the festival committee take a relaxed view of the rules. Bill insists that a loaded truck be moved off the lake, but its driver, Mac, refuses to listen, and the ice begins to crack beneath the vehicle. This is the Ranger Bill series, and the episode aired on February 12, 1958.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
