What happens
Forest Ranger Bill Jefferson and his companion Stumpy Jenkins are on a Caribbean cruise when the ship halts beside an island that the captain does not recognize from his charts. Passengers go ashore to explore it, and Bill and Stumpy notice odd clues, including barefoot prints and a hastily hidden campfire. A reporter, Fred Robbins, has gone missing, and he later turns up with a story of a frightening figure in the woods. The rangers track the figure to a cave and discover that he is James Archer, a millionaire who fled to the island to escape the people who wanted his fortune.
