What happens
Rangers Bill Jefferson and Henry Scott patrol the Big Six mountain country, blasting small snow buildups before they can grow into deadly avalanches. Jenny Bender, a headstrong young skier at the lodge, ignores the posted ban on the Big Six and ignores the rangers' warnings when they turn her down. When Jenny vanishes one night after skis go missing from the rack, Paul and Edith raise the alarm, and the rangers set out to search the slope where a slide has just come down.
