What happens

Ranger Bill and his friend Henry, along with seismologist Mr. Chenoweth, investigate strange tremors near Thunderhead Mountain. Local residents Clem and Martha notice odd noises and a shaking ground, and the scientist explains that the mountain may be shifting. As the ground splits open, the group climbs toward the crevasse, where the men and the local couple are stranded on opposite sides. The episode is part of the Ranger Bill series, and the transcript does not give an original air date or the lead actors. Ranger Bill and Henry are on the mountain when the crack opens, and Chenoweth prepares explosives to deal with the danger.

Thunderhead Mountain and the surrounding valley, a rural mountain area near the homesteads of Clem and Martha.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
