What happens
Ranger Bill and his deputies guard a remote area near a secret military test site, where a radioactive blast is planned. Their job is to keep people out, and when a family of wild deer wanders toward the danger zone, the rangers are drawn into an urgent effort to find and capture them. Meanwhile two strangers hide nearby in a dugout, carrying out a secret mission of their own. The story is part of the Ranger Bill radio series. The transcript does not give an air date or the cast.
A remote forest and plains area in the American West, near a military test platform
Characters: Ranger Bill, Stumpy, Gray Wolf, Colonel D'Almera, Red
Listen for: The warning signal streamer, the countdown to the blast, and Colonel D'Almera's radio order to capture the deer
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
