What happens

Herb Bradshaw, son of Thunder Bradshaw, leaves his father's wealthy ranch to start his own cattle operation on the rundown Conklin place on Elk Mesa. Jeremiah Sykes, a self-appointed prophet who once led a bloody range war, warns Herb against his plans. Herb sets about tearing out old barbed wire and building a one-wire electric fence on steel posts. Ranch hands Shorty and Paul discuss the new fence while Jeremiah's men gather to investigate it. The story follows the rising tension between the two families as the fence is installed and tested.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
