What happens
Ranger Bill and his companions investigate a monstrous fish that has been raiding the lines and catches of fishermen on the Finger River. Fishermen Paul and Pablo lose their catch, and Dan and Max report seeing a huge creature near their boat. Townspeople gather at the trading post, and the rangers are called in to deal with the threat. Bill identifies the animal from a sketch as a large fish unlike a barracuda, and the rangers set out to catch it on the river.
The Finger River country, a river with backwater branches that runs into the Pacific Ocean, near the town of Fingers and its trading post.
Characters: Ranger Bill, Stumpy Jenkins, Henry Scott, Max, Art, Paul, Pablo, Ben
Listen for: The rangers' description of the fish as they try to identify it from the sketch, and the sounds of the trolling and the stomping on the shore.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
