What happens

Officer Patrick O'Rourke, a beloved policeman in Knotty Pines, works tirelessly for the town's children, repairing toys in his spare time. Herman Schmitt, the church bell ringer, is his old friend, and Paul Katzen is the handicapped janitor whose job Pat secured. When Pat collapses on duty, his daughter Catherine waits anxiously at the hospital, and the town gathers in concern. Herman learns the church bells have stopped and Ranger Bill and his companions set out to repair them. The bells are central to the story, and Pat's hope and his family's worry grow as the work continues.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
