What happens
Ranger Bill and his men are called to Wayside Drive, where Grace and Wendell Brown report a large cat in their backyard. Rangers Stumpy and Gray Wolf measure the tracks, and the search for the animal spreads through Naughty Pine as townspeople grow frightened and some arm themselves. Reporter Rod Mitchell prints a sensational story about the cat, and Bill works to calm the town and correct the record. The Rangers set a trap and prepare to track the animal through the night.
