What happens
Ranger Bill Jefferson and Ranger Ralph Carpenter are in the town of Naughty Pines, which is beginning to grow after years of little change. Bernie Hanson, a civil defense organizer, boasts that everything is great but gives few facts when pressed. Soon an earthquake strikes the town, and the rangers work to prevent panic, broadcast safety instructions and search the damaged buildings for the injured. The episode is part of the Ranger Bill radio series, first broadcast on June 12, 1957.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
