What happens

Private investigator Philip Marlowe is asked by Dr. Talman to find Jack Schiller, the son of a dying man named Jacob Schiller who desperately wants to see his boy one last time before passing away. The old man is headed to Israel that very night, and time is running out. Marlowe's investigation leads him to the Sherry Towers apartment building and then to the Crown Club, where he catches a glimpse of Jack with a mysterious woman.
