What happens
Philip Marlowe is hired by the nervous Roth Wyngham to help transport a valuable gold cobra to Chicago. Wyngham claims the cobra is a gift to repay an old friend, but a pursuer named Aqbar is after it. After a high-speed chase through the city, Marlowe retrieves what he believes is the cobra from a hotel checkroom, only to have a red-haired woman pull a gun on him and steal both the suitcase and his car.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
