What happens

Private detective Philip Marlowe is hired by Beth Tyler to investigate a man, leading him to the Saddle Club nightclub where Beth and her identical twin sister Edie perform a piano act. When a mysterious and menacing character named Sippy appears, the evening descends into chaos: Edie is attacked in her dressing room, Sippy is found murdered at a motel, and $30,000 in gambling debts hangs over the club owner Neil Redmond. As Marlowe pieces together the clues—a stolen green purse, dancing hands in the dark, and a murder—he must determine which twin is guilty and uncover the truth before it's too late.

Los Angeles, primarily at the Saddle Club nightclub and surrounding locations including the Arrow Motel and Beth Tyler's cottage on Hazelteen Street

Characters: Philip Marlowe, Beth Tyler, Edie Tyler, Neil Redmond, Sippy, Paul Ceder, George (waiter)

Listen for: The clever use of the 'dancing hands' imagery from the piano act as a motif; Marlowe's deductive reasoning as he untangles the web of deception between the identical twins; the tense confrontations with the menacing Paul Ceder over the missing $30,000; the twist revelation of which twin committed murder and why.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
