What happens
Private investigator Philip Marlowe, recovering from a broken leg in his apartment, takes on a case for Odine Patterson when her brother Maynard receives a blackmail demand for fifty thousand dollars from someone called Fish. Maynard can't remember what happened during a drunken night out at the Colony Club, so Marlowe begins investigating from his sickbed, tracing Maynard's movements through gambling establishments and trying to identify the mysterious Fish before the deadline passes.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
