What happens
Phil Harris prepares to leave for a personal appearance in San Francisco and must arrange a replacement for his Sunday broadcast. His wife Alice Faye suggests he is being too casual about it, and Phil plans to fill the hour with his own recordings. When the sponsor's representative, Mr. Clark of RCA Victor, arrives, he insists on a replacement with comparable talent. Phil stalls and schemes to satisfy the contract, and the episode is part of The Phil Harris Alice Faye Show, first broadcast on NBC on March 22, 1953, with Phil Harris and Alice Faye in the leading roles.

Characters: Phil Harris, Alice Faye, Elliott Lewis, Mr. Clark, Julius
Listen for: Phil's scheme to replace himself on the show and the sponsor's demands
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
