What happens
Phil Harris and his wife Alice Faye are at home when their daughters come home late from school, having had trouble crossing Ventura Boulevard at White Oak because there is no traffic light or crosswalk. The family discusses the dangerous crossing and a petition that was turned down by the city. Phil and his neighbor Elliot Lewis decide to take matters into their own hands by painting a crosswalk, which quickly becomes a comic run of mishaps with traffic and the police. This program is an episode of The Phil Harris and Alice Faye Show, broadcast on NBC in 1953.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
