What happens
Phil Harris, a bandleader and singer, has been left with a high sense of self-doubt after a string of social embarrassments, including a slight to a Bel-Air society leader that costs his wife Alice an invitation. Alice hopes a spot on This Is Your Past will restore his confidence, and Elliot Lewis, Curly's friend, reports that Phil has been chosen as the guest. The story is a comedy of mistaken identity and misunderstandings, built on the characters' rivalries and the wife's efforts to help her husband feel important again. The Phil Harris series aired on NBC on May 14, 1954, with Phil Harris, Alice Faye, Elliot Lewis and Gale Gordon in the leads.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
