What happens

Phil Harris and his friend Elliot Lewis go to collect a royalty check from RCA Victor on Hollywood Boulevard, but Phil keeps getting distracted along the way. Phil reveals he has received an extra $500 from the label and decides to celebrate by taking Alice Faye out for a night on the town. Phil and Elliot argue over the choice of nightclub, and Phil suggests the fancy LaRouze. Elliot agrees to join them and Phil gathers his family in a jokey, bickering household scene. The episode is from The Phil Harris-Alice Faye Show, aired on NBC on January 29, 1954, with Phil Harris, Alice Faye, Elliott Lewis and Gale Gordon in the leading roles.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
