What happens
Phil Harris, who has just learned from his cousin Andrew Fast Horse that he is a descendant of a Mohican chief, insists on being called Phil Fasthorse and serves his family Indian-style breakfasts. His daughters Alice and Phyllis are expelled from school after telling their teacher she is wrong about the Indians' role in the Lewis and Clark expedition. Phil and Elliott Lewis go to the school to confront the principal, and Phil borrows notes from a student to bolster his argument. The episode is from The Phil Harris and Alice Faye Show, first broadcast on NBC on February 8, 1953, with Phil Harris and Alice Faye as the leads, along with Elliott Lewis and Gale Gordon.
The Harris home, and then the school where the daughters have been expelled.
Characters: Phil Harris, Alice Faye, Elliott Lewis, Julius, Andrew Fast Horse, Alice, Phyllis
Listen for: Phil's Indian-themed breakfast and his confrontation with the principal over the Lewis and Clark lesson.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
