What happens

On Mother's Day, Phil Harris decides to give his wife Alice Faye a day of rest. Phil and the children bring Alice breakfast in bed, with a southern-style meal, gifts and a poem. Phil then insists on doing all the housework himself while Alice tries to help. Frankie Remley drops by, and Phil and Curly Remley attempt to cook a French dinner from Alice's cookbook. Their plans soon run into trouble, as the turkey and the kitchen prove harder to manage than they expected. The episode is part of The Phil Harris-Alice Faye Show, first broadcast on NBC on May 14, 1950.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
