What happens
Phil Harris and Alice Faye are a married couple whose marriage is tense after Phil refuses to explain a secret about his recording. Meanwhile, his band member Frankie Remley, who works a second job as a babysitter, ends up with a baby in his care who was left with him by mistake. Frankie, Phil and the band set out to find the infant's mother, visiting houses around the neighborhood. The Phil Harris-Alice Faye show aired on NBC on December 3, 1950, and the episode is written by Ray Singer and Dick Chevrolet.
Hollywood, California, in a home and neighborhood where the Harrises and their band live and work.
Characters: Phil Harris, Alice Faye, Frankie Remley, Julius, Curly, Sammy, Artie, Mrs. Kramer
Listen for: The band's search through the neighborhood for the baby's mother, and the children's new Christmas toy song with lyrics written for the thing.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
