What happens

Phil Harris saves up $2,200 to buy his wife Alice a mink cape, but he keeps the purchase secret. Elliot Lewis, playing his friend Elliot, helps him shop, and Phil brings along Betty Binion, Larry's wife, to model the furs. When the gossipy Mrs. Stewart sees Phil at the furrier and jumps to conclusions, she sets off trouble at home. The Phil Harris series aired on NBC, and this episode's original air date is March 8, 1953. Phil and Alice are both at the center of the mix-up.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
