What happens
Phil Harris's household prepares for the arrival of Alice's first date, and Phil and Elliot Lewis, who play the sort of neighbours who keep trying to interfere, grow alarmed at the idea of a 14-year-old going out. The Phil Harris and Alice Faye Show, a comedy series on NBC, aired on October 9, 1953, with Phil Harris and Alice Faye in the leading roles and Gale Gordon also in the cast. The story is a light farce built on Phil's protectiveness toward his daughter, and the household's efforts to make the young suitor's visit a success and to find out more about the boy. Much of the comedy comes from the characters' exaggerated reactions and their attempts to handle the situation their own way.
The Harris home, and later a garage and the Coliseum, as the family plans around Alice's first date

Listen for: Phil's and Elliott's escalating plans to deal with Alice's suitor, and the mix-up with the boy called Sniffy
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
