What happens
Phil Harris has a dental appointment he dreads, and he bluntly refuses to go. His wife Alice Faye, who is the one actually scheduled, is nervous too, and Phil and their neighbor Elliott Lewis keep teasing and bantering over whose teeth need attention. The pair decide to see a dentist in the same building, Dr. Brannigan, and the visit turns into a string of mishaps involving straps, a mistaken associate, and a lot of loud protests. This is The Phil Harris Alice Faye Show, a comedy series that aired on NBC, first broadcast on May 24, 1953, starring Phil Harris and Alice Faye. The episode is a light domestic comedy built around one afternoon at the dentist.
A dentist's office in a city building, and the Harris home before the appointment
Characters: Phil Harris, Alice Faye, Elliott Lewis, Dr. Brannigan, Julius, Miss Faith
Listen for: Phil Harris's protests about the dentist and the mix-up over which dentist and associate will treat the patients
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
