What happens

Phil Harris is left alone at home while his wife Alice goes out collecting donations for the March of Dimes. Phil and his friends Remley and Curly decide to help, but their attempts at fundraising go badly, with one unsuccessful door-to-door pitch after another. Their efforts lead them to a neighbor named Bill Johnson, whom Alice has already said refused to give. This is the Phil Harris radio series, broadcast on NBC on January 20, 1952, with Phil Harris and Alice Faye among the lead actors. The transcript ends mid-story, before the situation is resolved.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
