What happens
Phil Harris and Alice Faye's characters Frankie Remley and Curly are summoned by Frankie to his shabby apartment, where he reveals that a French boy named Antoine is on his way to live with him. Frankie has been sponsoring the child through a relief group and corresponding with him in French copied from menus and posters, and the mix-up has left him with a boy he never expected to meet. The friends try to make Andy feel at home, teach him English and feed him, while Frankie grows attached and talks of adopting him. This is an episode of The Phil Harris-Alice Faye Show, first broadcast on NBC on June 12, 1949, with Phil Harris and Alice Faye in the leading roles.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
