What happens
Phil Harris and Alice Faye sign a radio contract with the Rexall drug company, their new sponsor. Before the meeting, Phil, his bandleader Frankie Remley and their friend Curly Ghasi fumble their way through a series of mishaps, from a stalled English sports car to a visit to a Rexall store where they end up demonstrating cosmetics. The episode is from The Phil Harris Alice Faye Show, broadcast on NBC on October 3, 1948, with Phil Harris and Alice Faye in the leads alongside Elliott Lewis.
Harris's home and garage, a Rexall drug store, and the company's offices, all in an unspecified American city.
Characters: Phil Harris, Alice Faye, Frankie Remley, Curly, Julius, Bill Foreman
Listen for: The bungled visit to the Rexall store, where the men try to sell cosmetics and end up in trouble with the manager.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
