Phil, Alice and their friends Frankie and Remley keep the ring for him, and the story turns on the ring and the mishaps that follow. The program aired on NBC, and the transcript shows Phil Harris and Alice Faye in the lead roles, with Elliott Lewis and Gale Gordon in supporting parts. Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
