What happens

Pat Novak, a San Francisco waterfront detective, is visited one evening by Georgie Lampson, an old acquaintance with a mysterious request. She asks him to help meet an incoming ship and intercept a package meant for her stepmother, Mrs. Sheila Lampson. After Georgie leaves his apartment, Pat is attacked and wakes to find a dead man and Georgie critically injured. As Pat investigates, he uncovers a web of deception involving a dead professor, stolen emeralds, and multiple murders.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
