What happens

Miss Brooks, an English teacher at Madison High School, is recruited with her colleagues to help raise money for a children's playground through a charity auction in the school gym. Principal Osgoode Conklin, Mr. Boynton, Walter Denton and Harriet Conklin debate publicity ideas, and Miss Brooks is put in charge of collecting donations and running the auction. Her mishandling of the donations and a series of mix-ups over addresses soon complicate the afternoon's plans. The episode is from the Our Miss Brooks series, first broadcast on CBS Radio on March 19, 1950, and stars Eve Arden, Gale Gordon, Jeff Chandler and Richard Crenna.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
